Read MoreDepartment of IPR, Saveetha School of Law organised an industrial visit to Kanchipuram silk park on 28th April 2022 to learn the real life situation of the actual producers of the protected GI, Kanchipuram Sarees. The team comprised of 60 students and 4 faculty members. Students interacted with the weavers of the different units situated in the Silk Park. It was found that the weavers in the Silk Park served as the employees of the majour textile houses of South India, quite different from the authorised users of an IP. The industrial field visit offered a different experience to the students.

It was an interesting session about the understanding of life struggles faced by LGBTQ community people. The Resource persons has demonstrated the session with live activities and students were made involved in the session. Students also took part enthusiastically. Our Students took part and acted in Spontaneous skit . The rights of LGBTQIA persons had been explained elaborately. Irrespective of current laws the hardships faced by the community also has been explained through the skit.

The insights I have gained from this one conference far exceed any other conference I have attended to date. Wonderful, insightful, well presented! Excellent sessions, challenging and thought provoking. Exceptional! Terrific! Stimulating! Great suggestions on how to focus on students’ strengths, not weaknesses, and how to apply the tools to empower them as critical thinkers. The workshop taught me the practicality of implementing critical thinking.
