The International Conference on “Evolving Dimensions of Juvenile Justice: A Focus on Laws, Rights, and Rehabilitation in India” was successfully organized on 14 February 2026 at Saveetha school of law. The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 200 students including presenters , reflecting the growing scholarly interest in the field of juvenile justice and child rights.
The event was graced by three distinguished judges who enriched the proceedings with their expertise and practical insights. The international perspective was represented by Dr. Jeeva Niriella, Sri Lanka, who provided comparative insights into child protection frameworks and restorative justice mechanisms. From Vijayawada, Dr. Koneru Anuradha addressed the evolving legal standards and procedural safeguards within the juvenile justice system. Representing Tamil Nadu, Mrs. K. Sunitha, JJB Member delivered an insightful address by quoting the practical aspects of rehabilitation and adjudication in the present judiciary. Their deliberations highlighted the significance of balancing accountability with reformative justice under the Indian legal framework.
The conference was convened under the guidance of the principal, Prof. Dr. Asha Sundaram and presided over by Dr.Kirubagaran and Dr.Anju Mohan, Dr.Lavaraju and Dr.Sivanandam and was organized by the department of Criminal Law by Research Scholar and Assistant Professor Ms. Manonmani. The program served as a valuable academic platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and critical reflection on the evolving dimensions of juvenile justice in India, reinforcing the collective commitment to safeguarding the rights and future of children.
