National Conference on Social Burden and Gender Inequality, organised by the Centre for Law and Economics

The National Conference on Social Burden and Gender Inequality, organised by the Centre for Law and Economics, was successfully conducted on 14th February 2026 at the Laser Court, Saveetha School of Law. The conference aimed to critically examine the gendered social, economic, legal, and institutional burdens borne by women, with a strong emphasis on women’s voices, lived experiences, and leadership in feminist scholarship.

The conference was distinguished by the presence of four eminent women resource persons. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dilshad Shaik, Professor and Dean, School of Law, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, who offered a powerful academic framework for understanding gendered social burdens. The technical sessions were enriched by Dr. P. Brinda from the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University; Dr. E. Gomathi, Advocate, Madras High Court; and Ms. Kalyananthy Satchithanantham, Member-Educationist, Government of Tamil Nadu, whose insights bridged law, policy, and grassroots realities.

A total of 34 paper presentations were conducted across three venues. The conference concluded with vibrant academic engagement, the Best Presenter Awards and National Anthem.
