Cine Lex Critica – Season 3

The third season of Cine Lex Critica, a vibrant fusion of law and cinema was held on 28th & 29th July under the INTRAVERSE banner, exclusively for the School of Law (SSL). More than a competition, it is a platform where students transform into critics, thinkers, and storytellers. This season featured 60 participants across three rounds.

Round 1 – Pilot Round (28th July)

Participants chose from Manithan, Nerkonda Parvai, and Papanasam, crafting presentations linking narratives to legal principles. Judged by Mr. Pandiaraj, Mr. Manoj, Mrs. Renuga, and Ms. Swathi (PhD Scholar), 16 teams advanced.

Round 2 – Octa Finals (29th July)

Teams were assigned genres, shown a 5-minute clip, and given 5 minutes to present legal insights. Judged by Adv. Satheesh and Adv. Mohanapriya alumni of Season 1this round tested spontaneity. The top 8 moved forward.

 Round 3 – Face-Off Round (29th July)

A knockout challenge featuring Quest with Memory, Roll to Roll, Fill the Void, and Clue Ball Chase tested recall, creativity, and teamwork. Teams CLC 32, CLC 24, CLC 09, and CLC 19 reached the finale.

 Grand Finale – Climax Premiere

The finale welcomed acclaimed filmmaker Balaji Tharaneetharan (Directed movie: Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom) as Chief Guest. His interaction inspired participants as they decoded clues and showcased legal-cinematic brilliance.

Season 3 reaffirmed Cine Lex Critica as a celebration of creativity, critical thinking, and the unique intersection of law and cinema encouraging students to think beyond the frame and redefine what it means to be both a lawyer and a critic.
