INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS CROSS-DISCIPLINARY APPROACHES TO TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT: LEGAL & COMMERCIAL DIMENSIONS

The Department of Labour Law, Saveetha School of Law, proudly organized a One Day International Conference on Intellectual Property Rights titled “Cross-Disciplinary Approaches to Trademark Infringement: Legal & Commercial Dimensions” on 12th July 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:15 PM at the Heritage Guild, SSL.This international conference was convened to address the multifaceted aspects of trademark infringement by integrating legal and commercial perspectives. It aimed to create a platform for academicians, legal practitioners, and industry experts to exchange insights and engage in meaningful discourse on intellectual property rights (IPR).The conference featured distinguished speakers from both national and international arenas:

●      Dr. M. Senapathy, Associate Professor, Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia, East Africa.

●      Prof. P. Sree Sudha, Dean, School of Law, SRM University, Chennai.

●      Mr. P. Sanjai Gandhi, National IP Awardee and Intellectual Property Rights Attorney, Chennai.

The inaugural session was led by Prof. Dr. Asha Sundaram, Principal of Saveetha School of Law, serving as the Chief Organizer. The event was convened by Prof. Dr. E. Venugopal, Professor, Department of Labour Law, SSL, with Dr. S. Thangamayan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of R&D, SSL, serving as Co-Convenor. T. Ganesh Kumar, Ph.D. Scholar, SSL, contributed as the Research Scholar for the event. Student coordination was efficiently handled by Jagadeesan M, Dhaneswar S, and Sharu Prasath S, ensuring seamless execution of the proceedings

.The conference concluded with a vibrant interactive session where participants discussed recent legal developments, practical challenges, and commercial strategies related to trademark infringement. This academic gathering fostered a cross-disciplinary approach that underscored the importance of collaboration between legal and business sectors in protecting intellectual property rights.
