The objective of the webinar was to inform and disseminate knowledge on the concept of peace and its interconnected themes, particularly in the South Asian region that includes language, culture, religion, ethnicity, etc. There were totally 84 participants including students, research scholars, professors, researchers both from within and outside of the institution. The resource person Dr.M.Venkatraman, Assistant Professor at the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies,University of Madras, eloquently spoke on the above said variables and how these are interconnected with peace and security in the South Asian region. During discussion, the participants elicited questions and clarifications on the recent happenings in Afghanistan and the role of China in South Asia and how they affect peace and security in the region. Dr.Venkatraman, with his insightful understanding on the subject matter, clarified the doubts and answered the questions of the participants. This exercise had really helped the participants in understanding the concepts of peace, security and how it actually works with interconnected variables in the South Asian region. The outcome of the webinar was as positive as it was visible by the questions put forth by the participants and the ensuing discussions between the resource person and the participants.
