RIGHT TO INFORMATION AT -OVERVIEW

On 14/3/2021 Saveetha School of Law conducted a webinar on “Right To Information Act -overview ”. The speaker of the day was Ms. B. Priya, an Advocate, practicing in the Madras High Court and District Courts handling Civil, Criminal and Family Court matters. The webinar focused on the overview of RTI act and the resource person highlighted the present covid in relation with RTI forms. The speaker gave a comprehensive outline on RTI law and its provisions in detail . The webinar focused on the process of filing an RTI application and the cost of stamp to be affixed. The practical application of RTI was explained in detail. She discussed the recent amendments and the landmark case laws relating to RTI act and had a discussion on the impact of COVID-19 on officials and the general public. Furthermore she concluded the session by listing out the various methods used by the government officials in combating COVID -19. The session was attended by about 80 students and faculties and was widely appreciated by the participants for its rich content and online interactive Q and A session.
