Forgery in electronic signature in relation to property law

On 25/4/2021 Saveetha School of Law conducted a webinar on “Forgery in electronic signature in relation to property law”. The speaker of the day was Mrs. S. Vasanthi , Advocate, Madras HC. Being a subject matter expert in criminal law and writ petition, she enlightened the students with the forgery in the electronic signature specifically in the property law. The seeker explained in brief how the conventional signatures are transcribed and are exceptionally illustrative of one’s personality. The utilization of signature is compulsory in law in specific cases and holds a significant lawful situation in the record as it implies two things, the character of the individual and purpose behind rendering it on the document in question. The Signature gives away one’s personality on a record and is utilized in everyday exchange and for illiterates its substituted with their unique finger impression. She also discussed the landmark cases on forgery such as Mohammed Ibrahim And Others v. State Of Bihar And Another, etc, which was helpful in comprehending the culpability of the maker for fabricating a document by forging the signature.
