FARMERS RIGHTS IN CO-RELATING WITH THE CURRENT SCENARIO

A webinar on Farmers Rights in Correlating with the Present Scenario was organized by Saveetha School of Law on 23rd December, 2020. Dr. N. Soundararajan, Professor, Dr. Ambedkar Law College, Chennai addressed the participants with his expertise in the field of law and he explained the legal aspects of Farmers Right in the context of Farm Bills recently introduced by the Government of India. The farmers protest, essential commodities, regulated markets and minimum support price for agricultural proceeds are discussed by the students. The benefits and drawbacks of implementation of farm bills and the stakeholders’ position also addressed. The session helped the students to identify few of the key issues in marketing agricultural items in India.
