Saveetha School of law, SIMATS organized an International Conference on Emerging Issues and Challenges in Air and Space Law on 26th & 27th October, 2018. International Conference started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu and Lighting of Kuthuvilaku by Guest of Honour Prof. T. Vijay Chandra, Retd. Prof., Kakatiya University and Mr. Kumar Abjeet, Asst. Prof, NLSUI, Bangalore. The grandeur inauguration of International Conference made its remarkable occasion by releasing the Conference Journal in the hands of Prof. T. Vijay Chandra and Mr. Kumar Abjeeth. The Guest of Honour Prof. T. Vijay Chandra addressed the gathering and insisted that this conference theme is new arena of law, receiving papers in this area is a big challenge to the Conference. The Guest of Honour made a point that more conference should be conducted in this theme in order to create awareness on air and space law. The presentation made by Mr. Kumar Abjeeth, Asst. Prof., helped the students to know the value of space law, and the critical analysis of space law bill throw light on jurisdiction and appropriation matters. Later on, after the inaugural session, the technical session was started with heated and tremendous discussion on different perspectives of Air and Space Law. In spite of the biggest challenge in this new arena, this conference had a participation of 400 students’, and received 16 papers which were also presented in this conference.
On 27th October, 2018 International Conference on Emerging Issues and Challenges in Air and Space Law continued by the blossom arrival of the Chief Guest Dr. Balakista Reddy, Registrar, NALSAR. This conference took its next level by the wisdom of the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering about the Air and Space Law – its evolution and future scope. This session was helpful for the students to understand about the new arena of law on air and space. This conference also made an attempt to create awareness about air and space law to school students. The students of “The Pupil” made the conference more meaningful by their presence. The international conference winded up with presenting awards for the best papers by the chief guest Dr. Balakista Reddy and our principal Prof. Dr. Asha Sundaram. The wisdom day ended with vote of thanks by the co-ordinators Prof. Dr. A. Sreelatha and Ms. Aswathy Rajan. International Conference on Emerging Issues and Challenges in Air and Space Law was a grand success with the support of management, participants, faculties and the students.

One Day Workshop on Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was organised on 15th October, 2018 for the law students by Dr. Sreeya B, Associate Professor, Saveetha School of Law. Almost 90 students participated in the workshop.
Resource person for the session was Ms. A. R. Aruna, B.Tech., MBA, Statistical Expert and Assistant Professor in St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research. She has professional experience of 8 years. She has expertise in SPSS, AMOS and R Software. She also contributes to research scholars for completing their statistical part successfully.
The highlight of the workshop was hands on training were given to the students on using SPSS Software. This workshop covered basics of SPSS, scales of measurement and analytical tools that can be used for empirical research. This workshop helped the students to explore themselves in the analytical part of research. It was a great learning cum experience for the students to do their research work in a more meaningful manner.

Speaker of the session was Dr. R. Gayatri, Professor and Head, Management Studies, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research. Under her guidance 13 research scholars were awarded Doctrate. She is also an Education and Media Consultant. She met nearly one lakh students for education counselling all over Tamil Nadu. Her live interviews and debates were telecasted in Sun TV, Thanthi TV, News7, etc.
The highlights of the guest lecture were case study presentation – An Outline and discussion on Corporate Accounting Fraud: A Case study on Satyam Computers Limited. This guest lecture helped the students to explore themselves in the investigation of case study research.

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible - Walt Disney.” Triveetha 18’ is all about getting the impossible done and exhibiting skills, talents and creativity. September 03rd and 4th witnessed one of the greatest events, Triveetha 2K18 that inspired and exhilarated the idea of Talent Hunt.
The Triveetha 2K18 had its grandeur logo launch by Bobby Simha (Actor), Susindran (Director), Vishnu Vardhan (Director) and inauguration by our respected Principal, Dr. Asha Sundaram and the Chief Guest Dr. Bala Nageshwar Rao, Director SSM on 3rd September, 2018.
The event started with our respected Principal Dr. Asha Sundaram lighting the kuthuvilakku and delivering the welcome address. She enforced her views on the importance of Triveetha 2K18. The Chief Guest, Dr. Bala Nageshwar Rao, Director SSM then addressed the gathering. Our respected Principal Dr. Asha Sundaram then felicitated the Chief Guest for the day, Dr. Bala Nageshwar Rao, with a memento.
This session was then followed by lot of mind blowing events and competitions. The events and the judges were Rangoli (Ms.Aswathy), Patti Mandram (Dr.Karuppaih), Treasure Hunt (Crew), Ship Wrek (Ms.Poornima), Painting and Face Painting (Dr. Shunuvurtha, Guinness recorder, Painting), Gaming (Crew), Eating Competition (Crew), JAM (Mr.Karthick), Cooking without fire (Dr. A.Sreelatha and Dr. Sreeya B), Dumb Charades (Crew), Devil’s Advocate (Adv. Tharani), Mehendi (Ms.Priyanka), and Block and Tackle (Dr. Sreeya B).
The winners of off stage events were awarded with certificates and medals.
On the other side, the Saveetha School of Law ground was filled with the physical talents. Men Students proved themselves in the following sports events such as Basket Ball (Chakras), Chess (Trishulas), Volley Ball (Trishulas), Kabbadi (Chakras), Shortput (Astras), Javelin (Vajras), Discus (Astras), Ball Badmitton Singles (Vajras) Doubles (Chakras), and Cricket (Vajras). Women Students proved themselves in the following sports events such as Basket Ball (Vajras), Handball (Chakras), Throwball (Trishulas), Shortput (Vajras), Javelin (Trishulas), Discus (Trishulas), Chess (Astras), Kabbadi (Astras), Ball Badmitton Singles (Vajras) and Doubles (Vajras).
Day II - 04th September, 2018 (Tuesday 8.30 AM – 7.30 PM)
The day started with the following final round events and the judges for the day were Patti Mandram (Adv. Jeyamohan), Light Music (Mr. Ankush Jain, Whistler and Mr, Leo Jerold, Beat Boxer), Channel Surfing (Ms. Rachana, Women Entrepreneur), Theme Dance (Mr. Vijaya Varma, Choreographer), Movie Dub (Mr. T.S.K., Winner, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, Vijay TV), Movie Spoof (Mr. Anzar, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, Vijay TV and Musically Fame Mr. Siddhu), Adaptune and Fusion Dance (Mr. Mani and Ms. Felina, Choreographer), Ramp Walk (Ms. Namrutha Chandrasekar, Miss Cosmo World’17).
Mr. Anbu and Mr. Redin Kingsly famously known as Tony (Misaimurukku and Kolamavum Kokilavum Fame) awarded the humanitarian award. Film Director Mr. Vasantha Balan through his presence made the event more colourful by distributing awards to special event winners.
The event concluded with the valedictory function which was graced by the presence of our respected Principal, Dr. Asha Sundaram, and Mr. Nakul, Actor. The winners were awarded their prizes and certificates. The grand event came to the end by announcement of Overall Sports Winner “Astras” and Overall Intra College Cultural Fest Winner “Chakras”. The event drew to a close with the vote of thanks delivered by the student co-ordinator Mr. Shivaramun.
With more than 700 participants, applauses & criticisms, the team effort with the support of the Management, Faculty Members and Students, the event was thus recorded a grand success in the history of Saveetha School of Law as the Intra College Cultural Fest 2K18. An event of such grandeur was successfully organized to make students aware of their skills and talents.
