JUS AMICUS 2026 - 9th Edition National Moot Court Competition

Jus Amicus 2026, the 9th Edition of the National Moot Court Competition, was organized as a national-level academic and advocacy event, bringing together 41 teams comprising 123 participants from across India. The competition provided a platform for law students to demonstrate their abilities in legal research, memorial drafting, oral advocacy, and courtroom presentation, while engaging with contemporary legal issues in a competitive environment.

The competition progressed through multiple stages, beginning with the Researchers’ Test and Preliminary Rounds, through which the participating teams competed for a place in the advanced rounds. Following the preliminary stages, 8 teams out of the 41 participating teams qualified for the Quarterfinals. The qualifying teams then proceeded to the advanced rounds of the competition, where they presented their arguments before the designated adjudicating panels.

The Quarterfinals and Semifinals were conducted on 15th September 2026, witnessing intense legal arguments and extensive research by the participating teams. The competition proceeded to the Final Round on 16th September 2026, where the finalist teams presented their submissions before the judging panel. The event concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony on 17th September 2026, marking the culmination of Jus Amicus 2K26 and recognizing the achievements of the participating teams and individual performers.

The results of the competition reflected outstanding performances across various categories. JA 15 from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, emerged as the Winners, while MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru, secured the position of Runners-Up. The Best Memorial award was conferred upon the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), recognizing excellence in memorial drafting and legal presentation. The Best Speaker award was secured by a participant representing Alliance University, Bengaluru, for their performance in oral advocacy. The Best Researcher award was awarded to a participant from the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, in recognition of outstanding legal research skills.

Jus Amicus 2K26 served as a significant platform for fostering legal research, advocacy, analytical reasoning, and professional courtroom skills among law students. The successful participation of teams from across the country and the recognition of excellence in different facets of the competition contributed to making the 9th Edition a meaningful academic and competitive experience.
