Ink N Index – 2025, Resurgence 2.0
Saveetha School of Law (SIMATS) hosted Ink N Index – 2025, Resurgence 2.0, a two-day mock political election campaign and election process on February 25 and 26, providing an immersive political simulation for students. The event was structured in three rounds: Round 1, "Politics Takes a Playful Anthology," involved political-themed games; Round 2, "The Nation Wants to Know," featured rigorous questioning by the press; and Round 3, "First Past the Post – The Throne," saw finalists canvassing their political ideologies in a test of democratic pluralism.
Dr. Jayakumar, former professor of politics, inaugurated the event on February 25 with a discussion on the role of politics before the Constitution. On February 26, Thiru A. Ramesh, District Judge and Chairman of the Permanent Lok Adalat, Thiruvallur, addressed the participants on the significance of voting rights.
The election results saw Zubair Ahamed A. and Samuel Stephen Raj S. from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of Law, winning with 283 votes, forming the majority party. S. Ram Sivanu and Karthick Manesh from VIT School of Law, Chennai, were first runners-up with 278 votes, representing the opposition. Hariharasudhan S. and Abirami Sri A. from SOEL secured third place with 153 votes, forming the minority party. Hariharasudhan S. was also awarded the Best Speaker title.
The event was led by Principal Dr. Asha Sundaram, with Arun Kumar and Manonmani, Assistant Professors, as co-organizers.
