First Year Law Students Visit to Thiruvallur Courts for Practical Learning

On June 20, 2024, first-year LL.B. students from the Saveetha School of Law, Chennai, embarked on a visit to the Combined Court Complex in Thiruvallur and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) as part of their first-semester curriculum.

This visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the legal system. The students had the privilege of interacting with Mr. A. Ramesh, the esteemed Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Thiruvallur. Mr. Ramesh enlightened them on the fundamentals of court proceedings, courtroom decorum, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms. He strongly advocated for a practical approach to legal education and encouraged the students to incorporate visits to legal institutions into their academic journey.

The visit included observing proceedings in various courts, offering the students a unique opportunity to witness the courtroom in action for the very first time. This experience proved to be eye-opening for the students, providing a glimpse into the real world of law.

The student group was accompanied throughout the visit by Mr. Blaise Joseph, Ms. Keerthana G, Mr. Ilampari, and Ms. Varsha Muralidhran (Assistant Professors), who ensured proper guidance for students.
