Agricultural reforms 2020: One nation one agricultural market-Freedom of speech and expression 


The webinar on Agricultural reforms 2020: One nation one agricultural market-Freedom of speech and expression was having the Resource Person as Mr. Manas Bhulchandani, B.A.LLB(Hons), Gold Medalist, University Topper,(LLM(Human rights)) from Department of legal studies & Research Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Diploma in Cyber law and was Former Member of Indian National Bar Association.

The Resource person elucidated the ongoing legal issue with regard to the " The Indian Farms Reforms of 2020 to which the Agricultural bill is being passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, 2020. He explained the three major Acts involved in this issue which includes the Farmers produce Trade and Commerce (Production and Facilitation) Act, 2020 where this Act expands the scope of trade areas of farmers produce from selective areas to any place of production. The second one was Framers (Empowerment and Protection) and explained about the Agreement on price Assurance and Farm services Act, 2020 providing a view into the pre-arranged contracts with buyers including pricing etc. The speaker concluded with the last Act Essential Commodities ( Amendment) Act, 2020 which was for the removal of foodstuffs such as cereals, pluses, potato, onions etc. 

This topic holds high importance in connection to the ongoing Farmers Protest at the Centre. Thus, it is essential for the citizens of this country to beware of this bill which may affect them on a daily basis as Agriculture is denoted as the backbone of India.
