THREE-DAY WORKSHOP ON “HOW TO ACE IN ADR COMPETITIONS?

The Centre for Criminal Justice Research (CCJR), Saveetha School of Law, organized a three-day workshop on “How to Ace in ADR Competitions?” from 16th to 18th December 2021. Mr. Akash Gupta, Lecturer, Jindal Global Law School was the resource person for the session. The speaker started the session by interacting with the students and sharing the relevance of Alternative Dispute Resolution in a country like India. The 1st day of the workshop concentrated on the fundamentals of ADR with snippets from the speaker’s own experience in VIS moot (east) in the year 2016.

Legal awareness campaign at Kondacheri Village , Thiruvallur

The Management department of Saveetha school of Law organized a Legal awareness campaign at Kondacheri Village , Thiruvallur District on 17.12.2021.The objective of the programme was to make the village women’s aware of their rights. Our students had interacted with Village womens and explained about women’s rights, Fundamental Rights, Private defence in IPC , Labour Laws, Cyber Crime , Legal aid, Saveetha Law firm…Etc. It was seen that village women’s don’t have knowledge even about their basics rights. The village women’s have asked many doubts and it was cleared by our students and Faculty coordinators. Then we went to Government school in the same village and our students gave awareness to the school students about good touch, bad touch, Problems related to mobile usage and career opportunities in Legal field. Totally the legal awareness campaign was very useful to our students as well as village people. Our students got very good experience through interacting with village people.

Legal awareness programme on Human rights

On account of Human rights day (10.12.21), we organised legal awareness programme in BRINDHAVAN OLDAGE HOME and a blind school at Valasaravakkam. Above said oldage home is consist of 40-45 old age people and blind school consists of 35 students. We had an interacting session with them explaining the existing human rights of vulnerable groups. Students explained in person and listened to their grievances. It was very useful programme for students. We Provided lunch and other provisions on behalf of Saveetha school of law.

Placement Drive - GIAS LEGAL

A Campus placement drive was done by GIAS LEGAL, a venture of Ganesh's IAS Academy, a 20 year institute which has placed more than 1500 officers in various services such as IAS,IPS, IFS and so on..GIAS were looking out for young and energetic law graduates, who were seeking alternative area of works, especially in the field of legal education.. Almost 25 candidates were attended the first round of interview i.e., Written test and 5 Candidates were shortlisted for the second round i.e., HR round and 3 candidates were for Group discussion. Two candidates were selected for the post Academics Manager Trainee and Administrative Manager Trainee with great package.
