National Seminar on “Psycho-Socio Problems Faced by Women in Modern Scenarios”
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saveetha School of Law organised a National Seminar on “Psycho-Socio Problems Faced by Women in Modern Scenarios” on 22nd November, 2021 with an objective to give awareness on the Major psycho-social problems faced by women in modern scenario. The resource person was Dr. M.Raziya Parvin, Head of the Department of History at Queen Mary’s College. The session commenced with an opening remark and welcome address by Jyotsna Roja, Third Year, BA LLB (Hons.) followed by felicitation by Dr. D. Vezhavendan, Head of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mrs.K.S. Bala Thirupura Sundari and Dr. K. Kirubakaran, Faculty members of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saveetha School of Law.
The seminar commenced with the note by Dr. M. Raziya Parvin on the alarming problems faced by women in Modern society. Speaker , enlightened the participants on the topic of psycho-socio problems faced by women in modern scenarios. She stated that their well being depends on psycho-social factors more than physiological and even though the gender gap is reducing, there exists innumerable challenges and issues that women face that concern physical and mental health. The seminar ended with a question and answer session.
The session ended with a thanksgiving note by Jyotsna R. The seminar was attended by 95 participants including faculties and students of Saveetha School of Law. The Faculty coordinators were Mrs. K.S. Bala Thirupura Sundari, Dr. Vezhavendan and Dr. Kirubakaran, Professors, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Saveetha School of Law.
