First Information Report with special reference to Section 154 of Code of Criminal Procedure and mainly covered the concept of Zero FIR. Speaker highlighted the filing procedures involved and also discussed and compared the normal FIR and Zero FIR. She further elucidated the provision of the zero FIR which came up as recommendations in the Justice Verma Committee Report in the year of 2013. The advantage of this concept was discussed with illustrations as the victim shall not be compelled to run from pillars to post.

The session was informative since most people lack awareness of the fact that the police cannot refuse to register an FIR on the ground that the offence was not committed within their jurisdiction. This concept ensures speedy conduction of enquiry and also helps in collection of evidence.
