The special lecture on "The significance of Contempt of Court Act 1971" was delievered by Mrs.Dhanalakshmi.R, Guest Lecturer, School of Excellence in Law, TNDALU. The talk traced the origin of Contempt of Court Act, its evolutional significance and on the need of enacting the Contempt of Court Act, the nexus between the various provisions of Indian Constitution and The Contempt of Court Act 1971 and further explored the concept of civil and criminal contempt and also the remedies available in the contempt proceeding .The lecture enlightened the future advocates on the relevance of showing respect towards the court and towards legal profession.
