National Conference on “Women’s Challenges in India: Law, Society, and Empowerment"

Saveetha School of Law, Chennai, successfully organised a National Conference on “Women’s Challenges in India: Law, Society, and Empowerment” on 10 July 2026 in hybrid mode. The conference featured inaugural and keynote addresses by eminent speakers, including Miss Reshma Nilofer Visalakshi, Dr. Saroj Bohra, Dr. Devi Prabha, and Dr. Amara. A total of 150 abstracts were received, of which 90 papers were shortlisted and presented across five parallel technical sessions in offline and online modes. The conference witnessed participation from 70–80 delegates representing institutions across India. Research presentations addressed themes such as cyber violence, workplace safety, reproductive rights, domestic violence, the gig economy, and constitutional safeguards for women. The conference was coordinated by Dr. Aswathy Prakash G. and Dr. S. Thangamayan, Associate Professors, Saveetha School of Law, along with Mr. Abraham S., Ph.D. Research Scholar, Saveetha School of Law. The programme concluded with a valedictory session, and selected papers will be published in an ISBN-registered edited book.
