LABOUR LAW –LAW DAY CELEBRATION

“It is not wisdom but Authority that makes a law”-On the 25th November 2019, Department of Labour Law conducted events as a part of Law Day Celebration 2019. The events are Mock Parliament, Arts and Monuments related to Indian History Quiz , Minority opinion justification, and Mime/ Drama related to unity and integrity.

The event Mock Parliament was conducted by Mrs.A.Sreelatha, Professor & HOD of Labour Law Department and Ms. Malaimagal, Assistant Professor Of Law. It is basically a live Model Parliament which the proceedings of the parliament are enacted. These kinds of sessions helps students to promote better understanding of the working of the government and decision making process. Next, The Arts and Monuments related to Indian History Quiz Which was conducted by Mrs. U.Raga Jothi and Mrs. U.Ragavee, Assistant Professor Of Law. As Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation, It represents a set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices. Culture and creativity manifest themselves in almost all economic, social and other activities. Our students participated in this quiz as teams and they have taken up 5 round as follows arts and culture round, monuments round, festival/ Heritage sites round, Monuments Identification round and final round as rapid fire.The event, Minority opinion justification which was conducted by Mr. B.Hariraman, Associate Professor Of Law and Mr. Thousuf, Assistant Professor Of Law. A minority opinion is an opinion by one or more judges in a legal case who disagree with the decision reached by the majority. A minority opinion is also termed dissenting opinion or dissent. A dissenting opinion does not create binding precedent or become part of case law. Lastly, Mime/ Drama related to unity and integrity conducted by Ms. Gayathri J, Assistant Professor Of Law and Mr. Nysil Mohan, Assistant Professor Of Law. The students performed Mime on the basis of current issue regarding Unity and Integrity. The sub topics given for the students choice are Peace, friends, fair trial, justice, honesty, religion, sports, treasure, public ,tax and unity is strength. Thus,Teams participation of students leads to knowledge transfer and gaining of information.
