JUS LEX TRIAL ADVOCACY COMPETITION-III Edition, 2025

Saveetha School Of Law, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences organised its flagship event JUS LEX TRIAL ADVOCACY COMPETITION-III Edition, 2025 which was conducted on 28th and 29th of March, 2025.  16 teams from all over the country participated in this competition. Each team consists of Two speakers and one Researcher with a total of 48 participants.

The event was structured as Preliminary Round 1 and 2 whereas all 16 teams argued for prosecution and defence. Among them, Top 8 teams qualified for the Quarter Finals based on the aggregate score. Opponents and Side of arguments were chosen by draw of lots. The winners were decided by knockouts. Top 4 teams qualified for the Semi Finals which was judged by Advocates with Trial Court Practice and the finalists were chosen by direct knockouts.

The top 2 teams as mentioned below qualified for the Finals

1. VIT School of Law, Chennai

2. Tamil Nadu National Law University, Trichy

The Finals of the competition was judged by the Mr. Karthikeyan,Principal Judge, City Civil and Sessions Court, Chennai and Mrs. Juliet Pushpa, Principal District Judge, Tiruvallur.

The VIT School of Law, Chennai was declared as winners and they were awarded with a cash award of Rs. 25,000/-, SCC Online subscriptions worth Rs. 24,000/- to each member of the winning team and the Title Winners Trophy.

Tamil Nadu National Law University was declared as runners and they were awarded a cash award of Rs. 15000/- and the Runner Up Trophy.

The winners of other awards are as follows:

1.  Best Researcher : Shared between Ms. Niharika Das, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad and Ms. Cordelin Rea, VIT School of Law, Chennai - Awarded with a cash reward of Rs. 5,000/- and a Trophy each.

2. Best Speaker: Ms.Ananya Gopalan, VIT School of Law, Chennai - Awarded with a cash reward of Rs. 5,000/- and a Trophy.

In total 16 court officers and 70 witnesses were provided by the organisers with the equal distribution for each team from all 5 year students. The witnesses were allotted with witness sets to each team based on the draw of lots.
