Industrial Visit - Sri Kalahasthi Pipes Limited, Andhra Pradesh
As the proverb goes “ The Logic Can Take You From A To B , But Imagination Can Take You Anywhere” it perfectly corroborates to the magnificent creations of Law Students which have been built by the admirers of law following their creative insight and to make them abreast with the practical side of their coursework, a site visit was conducted to Sri Kalahasthi Pipes Limited, Andhra Pradesh by Business law Department . AIM of Industrial Visit: Industrial visit is considered as one of the tactical methods of teaching. The main reason behind this- it lets student to know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from academic point of view. Main aim industrial visit is to provide an exposure to students about practical working environment .They also provide students a good opportunity to gain full awareness about industrial practices. Through industrial visit students get awareness about new technologies. Technology development is a main factor, about which a students should have a good knowledge. Details of Industrial Visit are as below: 1) Faculty Name: S.P Vidyasree ;Head of the Department ,Ms. Koppolu Chaitra , Mr. Suresh Babu Sir. 2) Duration 11.00 AM to 6.00 P.M 3) Totally 30 Students accompanied for this visit with 3 faculty . 4) Slot A students were Taken for the Industrial Visit Description of the Visit: OUTCOME OF THE VISIT: • Information Regarding the Company and structurisation of company • The technology and the equipment used for making the Ductile Pipe. • Knowledge about the practical Application of concept of Corporate social Responsibility. • The various processes involved in making the hazardous process was discussed . The Rights and liabilities of employee were discussed. • Discussion on the difficulties faced and possible solutions to overcome these difficulties was held. Program outcome • The industrial visit with an introductory section which gives an immense knowledge manufacturing procedure of ductile pipes. The introductory section was given by the HR department of the company along with a PPT presentation. • During this session the students and the faculty got aware about the hazardous procedures that are been conducted in seven plants in the industry. • The questions were raised by the students and the faculties about the waste disposal and gases which are emitted to the environment to which apt answers were given by the head of the HR department that they have a separate plant to treat the waste disposal from the industry that is called as sewage plant. • An innovative initiative taken by the industry was starting a sewage plant which collects the waste water throughout the city of Kalahasti and recycles it for their industrial use. • The students came to know about the legal department which works for the industry and have got the knowledge about the working style of legal department in a public limited company. • The introductory program was followed by lunch provided by the industry management followed by a complete industrial tour which gave a practical exposure to the students about the hazardous process involved and risk that employee state every day to do the manufacturing process. • The students and faculty brought the knowledge about practical knowledge of company law and implication of environmental law along with labour law. • After the visit vote of thanks was given by the HR department manager and Saveetha School of Law extended its gratitude towards the company for giving this opportunity for the students and as well as the faculty.
