Three Faculty members Akshai Aanand, Sree Lekha and Loga Priya coordinated the event. The visit aimed to commemorate the importance of museums in preserving and showcasing cultural heritage. International Museum Day is celebrated annually on May 18th to raise awareness about the crucial role that museums play in society. It promotes cultural exchange, knowledge dissemination, and the preservation of heritage. The theme for this year's International Museum Day was "The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine." Dakshina Chitra, located near Chennai, India, is a living heritage museum that showcases the rich cultural traditions and architectural styles of South India. It provides a platform for visitors to engage with traditional arts, crafts, music, dance, and architecture. The museum strives to preserve and promote the region's cultural heritage. The students' museum visit provided an enriching and valuable educational experience. It exposed them to a diverse range of exhibits, promoted critical thinking and cultural appreciation, and sparked creativity and inspiration. By incorporating more interactive elements and effective pre- and post-visit activities, future museum visits can further enhance the students' learning journey and contribute to their overall educational development.
