ATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “HUMAN RIGHTS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE” HELD ON 9TH DECEMBER 2024

The Human Rights Society of the Saveetha School of Law had organized a One Day National Conference on 9th December on the theme “ Human Rights and Social Justice” to mark the World Human Rights Day 2024. It saw distinguished lectures delivered by two human rights experts and a host of Presentations made mostly by Students of SSL but also from outside. While the first guest, Dr. Venkatanarayanan, Associate Professor, Head of Department of IR, Political Science, and History, Christ University, Bangalore, spoke on the underlying issues connecting human rights and social justice, the second one, Prof. Dr. C. Lakshmanan, Retired Professor, Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS) spoke on the relationship and differences between human rights and fundamental rights. That apart, 14 presentations were also made by the Students on the occasion. At the Concluding Session, Certificates were issued to both participants and the Presenters.
