Prison Visit

Department of Labour Law in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (Thiruvallur), conducted a visit to central jail Puzhal for the purpose of making students to understand the Jail organization and its functioning and Legal Literacy Programme for the Undertrial Prisoners about the rights of prisoners at Central Prison - II (Remand) & at Special Prison for Women, conducted by District Legal Services Authority (Thiruvallur).

The programme was about the basic rights of the prisoners and about legal aid , Para legal volunteers and convict para legal volunteers the programme was held in both men’s prison and women’s prison. The students were also allowed to interact with the prisoners .They took them to all parts of the prison and the infrastructure was so spacious and the environment of the prison was very clean. Students also went to Gallows and they explained to students about the procedure for hanging and how they will execute a death sentence .finally after all the session we took picture with jail superintendents and DSLA
