National Seminar on Aviation Management and its Law

National Seminar on Aviation Management and its Law was organized by Dr.Sreeya B on behalf of Department of Management Studies, Saveetha School of Law on 10th October,2019. The resource person of the session was Dr.Dewakar Goel, Executive Director (HR), Airports Authority of India, Director, Indian Aviation Academy, AAI, BCAS & DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, New Delhi. He has completed Ph.D. (Mgt), B.Sc., MBA, L.LB., DLS, PGDPMIR, D.TD (ISTD), D.L.L. (ILI) LMIMA INDIA-ICAO Fellowship, C.I. Tech (IATA) Switzerland, C.I.M. Trg.(IATA), C.TIC (ICAO). The resource person has vast experience in aviation industry.

 

Prof. Dr. Asha Sundaram, Principal, Saveetha School of Law felicitated the resource person Dr.Dewakar Goel with a shawl and memento. Mr. Shantilal, student of SSL gave introduction about the resource person. Then the resource person took over the session.

 

The seminar was started with the introduction of Right to Information Act. The speaker touched upon the key aspects of RTI such as requirements of RTI Act,who can ask for information, whether reason is required for asking any information, based on information how to file a case, etc. The resource person after introducing about RTI, took the students into aviation industry and told how information plays its role in aviation industry. Then he highlighted about the various tribunals that acts for taking any action against crimes. He also mentioned the important tribunals that are playing a vital role for Law related to Aviation. The resource person explained to the students about the future of aviation law. He pointed out the career aspects of law graduates in aviation industry. The resource person conducted few activities too, which were interactive, interesting and engaging.

 

This seminar was very helpful for the students to understand about the role of law in Aviation Industry through the practical experience of the resource person.
