The guest lecture on Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation,1996 by Mr. Mrithunjayan .K.M. Practising Advocate at Madras High Court focused on scope and applicability of ADR on 25.03.2022. He Explained about all modes of alternative dispute resolution . Discussed the matters which can be referred to arbitration like : Civil matters,Disputes about property or Money , Amount of damages payable for breach of contract and explained the case of Bhel vs. Assam electricity ltd. Where it was held that there should be a contractual dispute between the parties & there should be a claim. He explained the practical aspects of appointment and removal of arbitrators and also discussed how the arbitration clauses are applied in High court and arbitration Centers.. He also gave an overview about “International Investment treaty and Arbitration” , “International Commercial Arbitration” along with recent cases like “ Reliance vs. Amazon”& “ Eastmen Perkins vs. HSCC” The class was interactive and students had immense knowledge with respect to the field of arbitration
