Importance of Accountancy for Lawyers

Special Lecture was organized for Managerial Accounting (NC1401) students on the topic “Importance of Accountancy for Lawyers” on 18th October, 2019 by Ms. A.R. Aruna. Resource person for the session was CA Damodharan P., Founder, My Career Point, Professional Academy with four branches in Chennai, Tirupathi, Trichy and Bangalore. He addressed close to 35 lakh students PAN India and has been a source of motivation with real life experiences. He has secured all India Rank in ICAI exams. He has also received top performance award in Data Tracks Services Limited. He is also founder of CO-CO, College to Corporates, Job oriented training program for Under Graduates. He has completed CFO in FINTAGS – UK Based Online Reporting platform for XBRL. He is the founder of EAGLE EYES ASSOCIATES, a consulting firm for tax and audit matters. The resource person is specialized in Financial Accounting, XBRL, US and UK GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
The resource person gave an introduction about the role of accountancy. He made us understand the legal opportunities in practice as well as gave an outlook on how accountancy is linked with law profession. The speaker gave an insight on how much more a lawyer has to be aware of the changing environment in his or her profession. He also stressed upon the opportunities in the corporate legal field. The session was very interesting and informative to the students.
