SEMINAR ON MEN’S DAY

“A Feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of Women and Men”

International Men's Day (IMD) is an annual international event celebrated on 19 November’2019. The objectives of celebrating an International Men's Day are set out in "The Six Pillars of International Men's Day". It is an occasion to celebrate boys and men's achievements and contributions, in particular for their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care. The broader and ultimate aim of the event is to promote basic humanitarian values.

“Gender Equality must become a Lived Reality”

International Men's Day is celebrated in over 80 countries,on 19 November, and global support for the celebration is broad. International Men's Day is followed by Universal Children's Day on 20 November, forming a 48-hour celebration of men and children, respectively. Additionally, the month of November is also occasionally recognized as International Men's Month.

Saveetha School of Law takes immense pleasure in conducting a “SEMINAR ON MEN’S RIGHT” on 20th November’2019 at Saveetha School of Law Seminar Hall and also conducted an

Men and boys also deserve respect for their unique contributions to society and an end to the promotion of unkind stereotyping implicating them as harmful, abusive, toxic, selfish and hateful. We would not tolerate this directed towards any other group.

The Elocution Competition about Men’s Right in both English and Tamil have been conducted and participants of the Elocution had a focus on the implication of marginalizing men’s issues on the health and well-being of our greater society. We are entering into an era of unprecedented ideological conflict and by reducing men’s ability to take a positive identity from their masculinity we are encouraging young men to pursue ever more radical ideologies to find a place to belong. In turn we are also encouraging young women to embrace an identity as society’s victim rather than its equal co-creators.

The specialty of this event was that the chief guests of this event are the dignitaries belong to different filed which is highly associated with the public. Mr.Cyril (Director, Gandhian Village Association and Motivation Speaker), Actor.NAvindhar Murthy (Sun Television Fame), Mr.I.Murugann (Sub-Inspector of Police) and Dr.Vimala Annadurai (HOD, ChellammalWomen’s College)

Such an inspiring and interesting Seminar on Men’s Day was coordinated by Ms.Sornalakshmi Ravi, ,Ms.Jayapreethi Manoharan and Mr. CM.Selvamuthu – Assistant Professors of Saveetha School of Law.

“Men and Women have roles – their roles are different, but their rights are equal”.

Men are from Earth, Women are from Earth. We can proudly say that this Seminar on International Men’s Rights,2019 dealt with it.
