Right of private defence

Resource person, Mrs. Umamaheswari mam started her lecture and she explained about the Right of private defence under the Indian penal code. She completely explained all the provisions related to the private defence. Starting from section 96 to 106 of indian penal code which deals with the right of private defence. She has explained all the provisions with the relevant illustrations. She also explained about the right of private defence of the body and the property. And about the right of private defence against the act of person the unsound mind. She further explained about the ingredients of the private defence of the body which extends to causing death. Lastly, she also explained about the general exceptions of private defence.

This topic holds high importance as the Private defence is absolutely necessary for the society as it gives protection to one's life, liberty and property.  As a law student, we should know how to exercise our right of private defence. The Session was very much interesting and informative.
