On 15th September 2022, Department of Business Law of Saveetha School of Law, SIMATS Organised a One day “National Workshop on TAX LITIGATION AND PRACTICES ” in collaboration with “CHALLENGERS FOUNDATION ” at SSL Seminar Hall. Most renowned guest’s speakers have been invited to deliver the speech onTAX related aspects covering the litigation and practice part . Prof Dr. Asha Sundaram, The Principal of saveetha school of Law Felicitated the guest of honour’s Advocate Dr. M S KRISHNA KUMAR , Mr.G.SAIMUGUNDHAN,CA ,Dr.P.VENKATESAN and Mr. KARTHIKRANGANATHAN. 

First speaker for the day was Advocate Dr. M S KRISHNA KUMAR B.Com, M.L, PhD (Law)Initially served in Customs & CentralExcise between 1982 to 2002 for two decades. Sir gave a speech on what TAX is all about and also dealt with different kinds of tax and their application. First session was mainly focusing on the different indirect taxes like VAT , SERVICE CHARGES,  EXCISE DUTY ,GST etc.  

Second session was handled by Mr.G.SAIMUGUNDHAN,CAVisiting Faculty at National Academy at Direct Taxes (Nagpur) for IRS Probationers and Serving IRS Officers on Accounting Matters (Till 2012).Sir gave a speech on  Income tax and matters relating to it. Sir elaborated on the heads of income, and the income tax rates.  

Third session was Dr.P.VENKATESANQualified Advocate by profession,Enrolled before Bar Council of India(Karnataka) and Member of SCBA

Span of 13 years experience on Laws on Science and Technology . In the third session  Sir discussed the litigation filing and practical aspects by covering topics like Tax Returns of Holding for any Pre Closing Taxable Period etc. 

Fourth session was handled by Karthik Ranganathan is an advocate having 18 years of standing at the Bar and mainly practices before the Madras and Karnataka High Courts . Sir enlightened us with complete knowledge about the practice and the career opportunity available to the upcoming lawyer. Sir also discussed about the kinds of tax and the laws relating to it The full session was absolutely informative .
