Mission Electoral - Mega Legal Awareness Camp

The Mega Legal Awareness Camp (Mission Electoral), organized by Department of Constitutional law, Saveetha School of Law, was a significant initiative held from April 5th to April 13th, 2024, across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu. The primary objective of this camp was to empower the youth, particularly first-time voters, by educating them about their crucial role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

During the workshop, students from Saveetha School of Law, along with participants from 38 district colleges, played a pivotal role in disseminating information about the importance of voting. They emphasized the voting rights endowed upon Indian citizens and underscored the impact of each vote in shaping the country's democratic framework.

Additionally, the camp included practical demonstrations on the usage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). These hands-on sessions aimed to familiarize the participants with the EVMs, ensuring they are comfortable and confident in using them during the elections. The initiative was comprehensive, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of the electoral process among the youth. By equipping first-time voters with this knowledge, the camp sought to encourage informed and active participation in the democratic process.

Overall, 3,500 college students benefited from this legal camp, which took place in anticipation of the Lok Sabha election 2024 in India.
