Students of Saveetha School of Law visited the PUP school in Thailavaram located in Chengalpattu District. . It was a small village which had elementary school classes till 5th standard. . Mrs.  S P Vidyassri and Ms. Kaliselvi, Assistant Professors of Law from the Department of Business Law  and 60 students of Saveetha School of Law spoke on the topic "IMPORTANCE OF RIGHT TO EDUCATION '' . The objective of RTE and Education as a fundamental right was discussed with the Head Master, teachers, District secretary Education Department, ward Counselor of thailavaram, SMC Leader. The members of the school committee also joined us in the discussion about the RTE ACT . The right to education has been recognized as a human right in a number of international conventions, including the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights which recognizes a right to free, compulsory primary education for all, an obligation to develop secondary education accessible to all with the progressive introduction of free secondary education, as well as an obligation to develop equitable access to higher education, ideally by the progressive introduction of free higher education. We discussed the importance of education with the students in the school. We also noticed the school providing them lunch according to the mid-day meals scheme now known as "PM Poshan" . The kids were not accessible to many new things and they were so excited to talk with us . There were approximately 300 students from class 1 to 5 . We interacted with all the kids there and entertained them with a little bit of knowledge about what education is and it's importance. We interacted with the kids and encouraged them to stand before all and talk. We also asked a few general questions to the students and also enquired about the system they followed there. Lot of students came up with Telling rhymes and shared a lot out of excitement. This was a total great experience meeting people in the rural areas and spreading the knowledge about law gave us satisfaction.
