Legal Awareness Camp at Achariya School, Pondicherry
During the course of the legal awareness camp that was held in Pondicherry in a school called Achariya, the students of Saveetha School of Law showered the students of grades 5 to 8 with valuable insights and knowledge on the fundamental rights that are guaranteed by the Indian constitution. The intricacies of the Indian constitution and its fundamental rights were explained in a clear and crisp manner. To not make the presentation boring, our SSL student’s cracked jokes inbetween and made the session very interactive. It is important to note that, most of these interactions were on the spot, and our students beautifully blended creativity and quick thinking to make this event a resounding success. All the students of Achariya left the auditorium with smiling faces and a plethora of knowledge of the fundamental rights, which was deeply embedded in their minds by our SSL students to ensure that they never forget these concepts.
The event began with Shrijalakshmi who warmly welcomed all the students of Achariya and also the faculty members of Achariya. Secondly, Shaju Shakthi lit the stage on fire by explaining about the concept of fundamental rights. She explained Article 14 to Article 17 of the Indian Constitution in a very clear mannen. To make the process of learning easier, she also seeked the permission of the audience to proceed with her presentation in Tamil. This won the hearts of all the children sitting in the auditorium as she cracked puns inbetween and interacted with the students. Thirdly, Lochana amazed the audience and made them think deeply by posing logical and insightful questions. She then beautifully connected these questions with her presentation which was from Article 18 to Article Article 21. Then Naveena won over the hearts of the Achariya students by understanding the emotions of the students as they had a long day and also had written an exam. She kept her presentation short and simple even though the script which she had prepared went on for pages and pages. Her amazing skill to shorten the long speech into a simple and short one, that too on the spot is very commendable. This shows the knowledge she has and the grasp she had over the content which she was about to present. The event finally ended with Shrijalakshmi thanking the Principal of Achariya school and also the faculty and the staff members who helped them set up the stage, and not to forget, the wonderful audience themselves who were interactive and patiently listening to the presentation which was being done by the SSL students.
