INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES ACT- AN OVERVIEW

LABOUR AND INDUSTRIAL LAW lecture was conducted on 25/10/2019, on the topic Industrial disputes , in this regard DR.P.ANGYARKARNNI ,Associate Professor,who has an experience of 13 years of teaching and specialized in labor law happen to interact with students , in her interaction she focused on , that industrial peace is designed to advance economic growth of any country and ought to be the objective of labor legislation and also in accomplishment of social justice with the comprehensive outlook of promoting interest of public, for better understanding to students she differentiated into three stages i.e. pre – independence stage, during independence and post independence stages , the emergence of a spate industrial and welfare legislations in the western world in comparison with Indian laws, it was observed and understood that laws relating to labor disputes , welfare ,social security and so on… in real sense began to take shape only after independence , the planned movement has brought the country to an effective take off stage of industrialization, as a result number of laws , amendments from time to time came into effect, among which industrial dispute is one…which streamlined a network of machinery and authorities stipulating their powers and procedures and also focused on how in global era the industries are working and problems faced by workers in industries and reasons for disputes , the role of government and other quasi judicial bodies in solving disputes was also discussed along with recent case laws, most important point was about immigrant laborers and their rights and issues . It was rather an interactive session and students were happy in involving in such a activity
