Special lecture on the topic " Importance of HRM in an Organization" was organized by Dr. Sreeya B for the Human Resources Management (NC1603) students on 25th October, 2019. The resource person of the session was Mr. JOSHUA JOSEPH, Manager, Human Resources, Grand Magnum Housing Pvt Ltd. He has MBA in Human Resource Management with more than eight years of experience as HR.
The speaker started the session with introduction to Human resources Management and various functions, a Human Resource Professional does in corporate environment like human resource planning, Recruitment, Selection, Training and Development. He gave insight on the concept of competency mapping, various ways of identifying key competencies for an organization and/or a job and incorporating those competencies throughout the various processes (i.e. job evaluation, training, recruitment) of the organization. The resource person highlighted the importance of maintaining Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) through which organizations can take care of all HR processes and unify employee data in a single system.
The resource person concluded by explaining the recent trends in Human resources like emotional intelligence, Employee engagement and how these measures helps to maintain employee morale and retention of employees. Overall the session was very informative and interactive for the students.
