On 20.12.2020, a webinar was organised on the topic ‘Laws on Child Protection in the UK’. The resource person was Ms. Indira, who is a legal enforcement officer in England, with an experienced of more than 13 years in children and family legal services. Ms. Indira has also written a novel on child protection which was published in the UK Parliament. Firstly, she discussed in brief about the various laws relating to child protection in the UK. She furthered this discussion by illustrating the practical applicability of these laws using case laws. She also gave insights into the care and protection protocols practiced in the UK by the Government and other law enforcement agencies. She concluded the session by comparing the UK child protection laws with that of India’s. Students were enlightened by the session and also had a chance to discuss about the prospects of studying abroad.
